The Spanish video-on-demand provider Wuaki.tv is now offering films and TV series in Germany and is meeting competitors such as iTunes, Maxdome, Netflix, Amazon Instant Video and Co.
Wuaki.tv is the new star in the video-on-demand sky. As announced a few months ago, the Spanish provider is now officially launching in Germany as well, offering film ads for the best technology products and TV series without any subscription to buy or rent. According to COO Josep Mitja, the provider wants to score points above all with exclusive content and set itself apart from the competition.

In addition to Hollywood blockbusters from Warner, Disney, NBC Universal and HBO, the Spanish company also relies on European cooperation with Tele München, Constantin Film, Prokino, Universum Film, Telepool and ZDF Enterprises. Wuaki.tv’s German launch includes films such as “Maleficent – The Dark Fairy”, “The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Rise of Electro”, “Edge of Tomorrow” and “Fack ju Göhte”, as well as the series “Game of Thrones”, “Breaking Bad”, “House of Cards” and “Lost”. The company has no plans for in-house productions such as Netflix’s and Amazon’s Instant VideoAnzeige: the best technical products currently being developed.

Users can find Wuaki.tv via web browser, Android smartphones and tablets, iOS devices, Google Chromecast and Smart TVs display: To the best technical products on Amazon [powered by kontextR] by LG, Panasonic and Samsung. Further platforms like Smart TVs from Philips or Microsoft’s Xbox will follow in the coming weeks. Titles in SD cost between 2.99 and 3.99 euros to borrow. In HD quality, 3.99 to 4.99 euros are charged depending on the topicality of the strip.
During the Christmas season there will also be a 4k campaign: buyers of a UHD television ad: In addition to LG’s best technical products (from the UC9, UB98, UB95 and UB85 series), Wuaki.tv will also be offering a voucher for the films “Forrest Gump”, “GI Joe”, “World War Z” and “Star Trek” in 4K quality. The campaign runs until 3 January 2015.
